Studies for a Young Adult Novel
For my thesis project I am writing and illustrating a young adult novel. My story follows eleven year old Charlotte Fincher Cragen, known as Chuck, on an unexpected adventure, introducing her to historical figures from the world of science and exploration. It is a story of adventure and of facing the unknown with bravery and perseverance. By showcasing real explorers and scientists, I aim to highlight the potential of humanity and give voice to the forgotten, while celebrating exploration and the potential of curiosity. (Character and scene studies in graphite, watercolor, and charcoal)
